How we use information•Respond to questions, requests, and inquiries and schedule application or other appointments.•Process, verify, evaluate, and administer apprenticeship applications, testing, interviews, eligibility lists, selection, placement, registration, training, and program participation.•Communicate about applications, deadlines, classes, schedules, closures, program requirements, events, safety matters, and other administrative information.•Maintain applicant, apprentice, student, instructor, journeyworker, contractor, and program records.•Coordinate with training partners, employers, contractors, labor and management organizations, schools, testing providers, government agencies, and other parties involved in apprenticeship or training administration.•Provide accommodations, address health or safety matters, and meet equal-opportunity, affirmative-action, reporting, audit, grant, licensing, accreditation, and legal obligations.•Operate, secure, maintain, and improve our website, systems, facilities, communications, and services; detect and prevent fraud, misuse, or security incidents.•Send newsletters or promotional updates when you request or consent to them. You may unsubscribe using the link in an email or by contacting us.•Establish, exercise, or defend legal rights and comply with applicable laws, regulations, subpoenas, court orders, audits, and government requests.3. Phone calls and text messagesIf you provide a telephone number, we may call or text you for purposes related to your inquiry, appointment, application, apprenticeship, class, program participation, account, or other relationship with AAEJATC. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of applying for or participating in an apprenticeship or training program. You may still receive communications required to administer an active application, apprenticeship, class, or other requested service when permitted by law.4. How we disclose informationWe may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients when reasonably necessary:•Website, hosting, cloud-storage, email, telecommunications, payment, information-technology, cybersecurity, records-management, application-management, learning-management, testing, and other service providers that perform services for us.•IBEW Local 252, Michigan NECA, participating or signatory employers and contractors, training partners, schools, testing providers, benefits or credentialing entities, and other organizations involved in apprenticeship, employment, education, licensing, or training administration.•Federal, state, or local agencies and systems, including apprenticeship registration, equal-opportunity, workforce, grant, audit, licensing, tax, or law-enforcement authorities, when authorized or required.•Professional advisers, auditors, insurers, legal counsel, and other parties necessary to protect AAEJATC, its participants, or others.•A successor or other involved organization in connection with a reorganization, transfer, or change in program administration, subject to appropriate protections.•Other parties with your direction or consent.AAEJATC does not sell personal information for money. We do not disclose applicant phone numbers or text-message consent to third parties for their independent marketing. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of our programs.5. Applicant and apprenticeship recordsApplicant and apprenticeship records may contain sensitive information and may be used to determine eligibility, rank or select applicants, register apprentices, coordinate employment and training, document progress, and satisfy legal and program requirements. Providing certain information may be required to complete an application or participate in a program. If required information is not provided, we may be unable to process an application or provide the requested service. Voluntary equal-opportunity or disability information will be handled and used only as permitted by applicable law and program requirements.6. Data retentionWe retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including administration of applications, eligibility lists, apprenticeships, training, employment coordination, credentials, grants, audits, reporting, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Retention periods vary by record type and may be extended when required by law, an agency, a grant, a contract, litigation hold, audit, or legitimate operational need. When information is no longer needed, we may securely delete, destroy, or deidentify it.7. Data securityWe use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Do not send Social Security numbers, copies of identification, medical information, or other highly sensitive records through a general website contact form or ordinary email unless AAEJATC specifically instructs you to use that method.8. Those third parties may collect information under their own privacy policies. A link does not mean that AAEJATC controls or is responsible for the third party’s privacy or security practices. Children’s privacyOur website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 submitted personal information through our website, contact us so we can review and address the matter.11.
